Landmarks and Icons of Los Angeles

The city of Los Angeles is full of amazing cultural institutions, entertainment venues and of course Hollywood movie stars and great beaches. These are all some of the unique and essential elements that contribute to making LA the amazing and original city that it is. In addition, it continually attracts some of the highest tourist populations throughout the year. This is partly because anytime of the year is a beautiful time to visit Los Angeles, it has extremely mild winters and moderate summers. And even when it’s warm in the summer there is always a great beach, a movie theatre, café or club to escape into.

In addition to attracted such a large number of tourists every year, Los Angeles also attracts new residents. And while many of the top film and television stars work in Los Angeles they also choose to make the city their home. This is part of the intrigue for many of the guests who fill the rooms of some of the greatest hotels in the city and the lobbies of these hotels are also fabulous information centers for finding out where many of the stars’ homes are located. And while it is never encouraged or accepted to violate the privacy or trespass on anyone’s private residence, most of the celebrities living in and around the city of Los Angeles have become accustomed to fans driving by and pausing for moments out on the street.

Meanwhile, star gazing and beach lounging, oh and great dining, music and other performances are not the only things Los Angeles has to offer. The city has some incredibly significant cultural landmarks that are frequently based on the film industry, though many others are related to the history and development of the city itself. From the Hollywood Bowl to the Labrea Tar Pits, Los Angels is full of landmarks and cultural icons. Even the streets are famous and symbolic of various aspects of the city. The television series TMZ is a popular cross between journalism and paparazzi and its name is based on the fame of the city’s geography. Hey, if you’re visiting and stand on a street corner long enough maybe even you can become an icon.
