This museum focuses on the commercial side of aviation unlike many other museums which focus more on the military side of aviation. It has been open to the public since 1993 and is dedicated to all the past and current employees of American Airlines. There are many hands on displays which a strong part of the education offered in the exhibits. They continue to collect artifacts and archival materials to add to the exhibits to give a greater view of the big picture.
They offer some really fun activities for kids of all ages including the Eagle Aviation Camp which is designed to inspire young people to explore the world of aviation and maybe become apart of it some day. The camp features instruction from all areas of the field like pilots, mechanics and flight attendants. So come and see all the came after the first scheduled American Airlines flight by Charles Lindbergh, in a Robertson Aircraft, from Chicago to St. Louis carrying a mail bag.
