Where the Quest Begins

New York Residents Spend Weekend in Atlantic City

What do you do when you’re a tourist visiting the city of New York? You probably go to a Broadway play. And what do you do when you are a resident of New York? Well, you might likely go to a Broadway play as well, though you are also extremely likely to cross the river into New Jersey and spend a weekend in Atlantic City. This is exactly what New Yorkers Beth and Tanya decided to do after a particular stressful day at work. They really needed a chance to let off steam and have a great time and they thought Atlantic City was just the place to do it.

And so they went and had a great time just walking along the boardwalk. Finally they stopped in to their first casino and Beth sat down at a Blackjack table. Unfortunately, she was so wound up that she couldn’t seem to stop saying hit me and quickly lost quite a bit of money. Tanya did not better at the slot machines and though she didn’t lose as much money she sunk quite a few quarters in one with no return. They moved on and this time Tanya sat down at a Texas Hold em table. She played for an hour and broke even after being down two hundred dollars. She finally hit an ace high flush on the flop and knew she had the nuts. She slow played the hand all the way to the river and finally went all in. Thanks to that hand she was able to walk away even. Beth however, lost more money at the Blackjack table.

When the friends returned to New York both of them had lost chunks of money though they did have a good time. They passed what Tanya claimed to be the best New York City hotel and agreed that they would have been better off pretending to be a tourist and saying Phantom of the Opera for the fifth time. Oh well, there was another stressful week ahead and there would be another weekend to follow it.
