Where the Quest Begins

Golf in the Golden City

Many desert cities in the world, tend to have the most incredible golf courses.  Which may seem hard to imagine as the lush, green grass necessary for the courses seem so out of place and difficult to maintain.  However, these are climates that provide a nice winter season, mild enough for those who can not get enough of the sport.  This is true in cities in the United States, such as Phoenix, Arizona or Palm Springs, California, and it is definitely true for the city of Dubai.  In fact, what was once so hard to imagine has become quite the norm.  And as in other aspects of the city, such as the architecture of the Dubai UAE hotel, the Palm Tree Islands, the glamor and the glitter, the sport of golf in Dubai has captured the attention of the world.

This is a sport that is now practiced widely, is becoming increasingly popular and draws those from around the world with the desire to play on some of the most stunning and spectacular courses in the world.  The creativity of design that sets this city apart from others is carried over to the design on the courses.  These courses entice some of the worlds most famous golfers and many of their spectators and fans.  There is a large variety of courses to choose from, and the golf clubs of the city are gaining in number each month.

PGA tours have made Dubai one of their favorite locations, with some of the courses on the schedules being the Emirates Golf Club and the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht club.  Many of the hotels have golf courses on the grounds and this has proven to increase the tourism on a daily basis.  Many players such as Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, and Colin Montgomerie play on the courses of Dubai regularly, and all are in attendance every year for the Dubai Desert Classic tournament.  And for those who are players but not on the professional circuit, Dubai is a dream come true.
