Where the Quest Begins

Phuket: Island Paradise

The largest island in Thailand is also the country’s most popular tourist destination. Phuket is a paradise of beaches, sun, gorgeous ocean waters and an atmosphere of relaxation and fun.  Young people flock to the island to partake in its thriving nightlife and beach parties. Others come to unwind on the beach and soak in the amazing scenery throughout the island.

Phuket has nurtured its glowing reputation. There are incredible luxury Phuket hotels, fabulous restaurants, and, of course, the miles and miles of beaches.  The island has great shopping, interesting landmarks, and more natural beauty than most tourist hotspots.

The island is home to the Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Park which features virgin forest, waterfalls, and a number of endangered species of both animal and plantlife. It is home to breath-taking vegetation and an environmental study center.

The diverse population of Phuket includes Malay, Thai-Chinese, and Europeans who practice Islam, Buddhism, and other religions. This cultural diversity adds to the energy and appeal of the island. Throughout the year there are a number of festivals and celebrations that emphasize this multiculturalism and the various heritages of the island’s population.

Of course, no trip to Phuket would be complete without visiting the beaches.  Phuket is actually a collection of islands, so the number of beaches is staggering. Boat trips between islands are common and the waters surrounding the island are ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving as well as windsurfing and sailing. Many visitors are simply content to sit on the beach and enjoy the scenery, sun, and let all the stresses of daily life evaporate.
